Minor Move is an album by American hard bop tenor Tina Brooks, featuring performances by Brooks, Lee Morgan, Sonny Clark, Doug Watkins and Art Blakey. It was recorded on March 16, 1958, and was Brooks’ first album as a leader for Blue Note Records. The album, however, was shelved for many years until being issued in Japan in 1980, as Blue Note GXF 3072. In 2000, Minor Move was released on CD. The piece “Nutville” is sometimes credited to Lee Morgan, but in truth, as Michael Cuscuna explains in the liner notes to the 2000 release, “Lee brought the tune to the session, but never claimed credit for it. Curtis Fuller also confirms that it was indeed a Tina Brooks original.”

Mastering was done by Kevin Gray (Cohearent Audio) and vinyl was manufactured at Record Technology Incorporated (RTI). The titles were handpicked by Harley and cover lesser-known Blue Note classics, modern era standouts, and albums from other labels under the Blue Note catalog.
Extreme attention to detail has been paid to getting these right in every conceivable way, from the jacket graphics and printing quality to superior LP mastering (direct from the master tapes) by Kevin Gray to superb 180 gm audiophile LP pressings by Record Technology Inc.
